- "I found a salt related flea scrub recently! Take a cup of salt and add just enough Dawn dish soap to stir into a paste. Wet your dog down in the sink or tub and rub fingerfuls of the salt paste into his fur. Let it sit for five to ten minutes if you can hold your mutt still that long! Rinse thoroughly with warm water. You might want to follow this with a shampoo and rinse made for dogs as the dish soap is not the right Ph for a dog's skin. The dish soap kills the fleas outright and the salt takes care of any remaining eggs! I think following your 9 day cycle with this method would be wise, to make sure the whole cycle is covered.
