CHICAGO, IL CITI BOIS The Chi Citi Bois, aka Citi Bois, represent Chicago, Illinois which is located on the northern coast of Illinois. The group consists of M. Skillz, G.O.O.S.E., and J. Green. G.O.O.S.E (great outcome of struggling environment), otherwise known as Lavaris Johnson is Chicagos self- proclaimed little brother of the Chi. With a steady grind, confident lyrics, and a charismatic delivery G.O.O.S.E combines an up- tempo flow with unleashed energy to delivery his message in Hip Hop. All of these abilities gelled together makes him one of the young MCs to listen for. J. Green, whose real name is Jamal Green is a young MC with an old soul. J. Green uses his voice to plug the world into his struggles and the poverty stricken struggles of his low income community. J. Green excites listeners with powerful lyrics and phenomenal word play in every rhyme. Each verse is outlined with unmatched intelligence. Dont believe it? Just listen for yourself. It wasnt until after high school when the Citi Bois decided to pursue their careers as Hip Hop artists. The original Citi Bois group, consisted of S.P, Gunna, G.O.O.S.E, and J. Green. Hailing from Chicago, the Citi Bois started out as childhood friends. Growing up on the citys rough Westside quickly turned a life of school and sports into a life of hustle and survival. Because Gunna and S.P were athletes and didnt have much time to contribute to the group, they left the Citi Bois. M. Skillz, the younger brother of G.O.O.S.E joined the team as a behind the scene figure. M. Skillz enrolled into Columbia College for the arts where he studies sound engineering, and he quickly became a consistently improving quality beat maker and music producer. The remaining two members of the Citi Bois, G.O.O.S.E and J. Green started recording songs over M.Skillzs original beats, ripping industry tracks, and performing live to prove that this young rap duo out of Chicago was lyrically talented and ready for the spotlight. The Chi Citi Bois are not a couple of new kids on the "New Kids on the Blocks" block. The Citi Boi name derived from the groups plan to represent their city, to the best of their ability. The idea to spell it different came from the diversity within the two artists. This 1-2 combo out of Chicago has been blazing the underground scene with mix tapes and live performances in Hip Hop showcases throughout the city, for some time now. Its hard to believe that the Citi Bois are so young and that they are doing everything on their own, as far as making beats, writing lyrics, and putting themselves in studios and live shows.
