With a voice as soothing as they come,SHAKEELA, a young gifted artiste/songwriter from Trinidad & Tobago is ready for the world. When asked to describe her music she says," Its a blend of Blues, Jazz, Reggae, Rapso, Hip-Hop and Soul made into the finest wine, as it gets sweeter with time." Her work is inspired by her own life experiences. "Its all I do. Its who I am." She insists."I'm never afraid to say what's in my heart". Although just 34 years old, Shakeela has produced two 'Live' Acoustic Albums, her debut 'Naked with Strings' followed by 'Acoustic Diary'. Both albums are considered collectibles. There are those who believe her to be the next Jill Scott, Lauryn Hill or India Irie. Whether so or not, a taste of Shakeela's live performing proves her to be fresh and unique. Her fans can look foward to the release of her brand new album 'Four Dollars and Some Sense', a Reggae offering just completed at Corosive Recording Production, Point Fortin, Trinidad. Sixteen years on stage has undoubtedly groomed her for opportunities regionally and internationally.Shakeela humbly admits, "When I'm on stage, I'm carrying out my purpose-not only a contract-but my greatest desire".
