About

For old friends from high school re-connecting, here's my last 35 years in thumbnail: After high school I got my Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from Rose-Hulman. Over the summer before senior year, I took a bike trip from Indiana to Washington state. Out of Rose-Hulman I went to work for Bell Labs in New Jersey. They sent me to MIT where I got my Masters degree and I worked at the Labs for a couple of years after that. In 1983 I was accepted into the Caltech Ph.D. program and completed that degree in 1988. Having had enough schooling for just about anyone, I started up a small microwave instrument company in southern California based on some technolgy I developed in my Ph.D. research. We eventually sold that company to another small company in the LA area. In 1990 I married Marcy Levinson, a New Jersey native who works as a radio newscaster. When we were ready to start a family we thought southern California was a little too far from family and a little too expensive, so in 1991 we moved to Georgia, where my sister Anna and brother-in-law Matt Logsdon were (and still are). Our first daughter Abby was born in 1992. Our son Dave followed in 1995 and our third, Rachel, rounded out the field in 1997. Last year Abby was accepted to Princeton and she seems to be thriving there through her freshman year. Time has flown... For our first fifteen years in Georgia I worked for a company called EMS Technologies that did space and military electronics. I got to work on some pretty cool stuff: there was a lot of communications satellite hardware and a couple of the boxes I worked on are in orbit around Mars right now. In 2007 I left EMS and came to ANADIGICS where I work on chips for commercial wireless electronics. Your laptop or smart phone may be connecting to the network through an ANADIGICS chip right now. For pretty much all the time we've lived in Georgia, Marcy has been a news anchor on the morning news program at WSB radio, the big news-talk station here in Atlanta. So that's a quick run through the highlights. Hope your last few decades have been as full and fun!
