Msgt. Fortunato S. Matias, USAF (Ret) Apple Valley, Ca. Branch and years of Service: U. S. Navy and U.S. Air Force (over 22 years) Conflicts Served: The Cold War, Vietnam Era. I am Master Sergeant Fortunato Sadsad Matias, United States Air Force (Ret). I was born in San Jose (Peta), Dinaluphian, Bataan, when the Philippines was a Commonwealth of the United States and was raised in Lubao, Pampanga, the Philippines. I entered the United States Navy at Sangley Point Cavite, Republic of the Philippines. After 6 years, I transferred to the United States Air Force. I attended the Jet Figther Aircraft Mechanic Technical Training School at Sheppard AFB, Texas. I met my wife Clarita Tiongco Martinez while she was going to Nursing School at Albert Einstein Medical School in Philadelphia, PA., and together we have three children: Fortunato Jr., Clarita Jr. and Carlita. Effective 30 November1983 I am officially retired. I am proud to have served over 22 years in the military. It's been my distinct honor and pleasure to have worked and known some of the finest professional men and women throughout my carrer. For all of you still serving our nation, I ask that you continue to do so with the upmost pride and dignity. It is becuse of your courage and wisdom our Country will constinue to be united and strong. You have bravely carried the burden of defending this Country. May God continue to bless all of you and loved ones and our great Country remains the greatest Nation on Earth!. "THIS IS THE HOME OF THE FREE***BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE" After military retirement, I worked for Rockwell International as a Flight Test Inspector at Edward Air Force Base forthe B-1A/B-1B bomber, as well as performing inspection for any armament being tested. I retired from Rockwell, now Boeing Aircraft Company on March 2005. US Air Force (Msgt) and Boeing Aircraft retired Inspector respectively. AB in Aircracft Maintenance thru the Community College of the US Air Force. BS in Aerospace Management Owner and CEO of Fortunato S.
