About

I'm a 37 year old nerd as some would say. I have a love of technology, Japanese animation (anime as most know it) and music. My biggest dream however is to travel. I grew up moving around the central Richmond areas, from the west end, to Mechanicsville, and eventually ending up in south side Chesterfield once I finished high school. That being said I have never truly left the central Virginia area except on a few VERY rare occasions. even then the farthest away I have been is Ohio. I'm sure you can imagine because of that, I want to travel more than anything else as a dream career. Sadly right now thanks to the pandemic restrictions on travel around the world, that dream is on hold. Instead, I am taking this time at home to work on my current career (call center rep) and also working on my weight. I am overweight right now, and since Diabetes runs in my family genes, I want to prevent that from happening to me. 2 mile walks daily, cutting back on high sugar items, as well as even changing my meat intake. At one point I was only allowing myself to eat seafood or poultry. No red meat or pork to be had. Since my family and friends had a very hard time adjusting to my diet change, as well as the fact that this diet style is damn near impossible on the US (welcome to bacon country), I decided to atleast allow beef back into my diet, at most once a week. Career wise, I am currently working for Allianz Global Partners (a travel insurance company). It was my goal to eventually land a position that allows for travel, but again thanks to the pandemic, not only am I working from home (even on furlough as I am writing this in Sept.'20), but I also am looking elsewhere due to the length of the pandemic being a lot longer than expected. As I stated before, my dream job would be something based around travel, but right now I am at least sticking to technology based careers since that is my second biggest love / hobby. I did go to John Tyler Community College back in 2013 for IT Web Design, However that career path did not pan out, so I'm "dipping my toes" into other IT areas. Having a best friend as an IT technician for Wells Fargo does help with ideas and advice too. Still, it takes time. As stated before, I love anime, however I have a very deep love and appreciation for Japanese culture as well. Having watched videos and read books on it slowly grew my love for it, but since i've never been to Japan myself, my heart is aching to go the moment this pandemic shutdown lets up. I have even made a list of locations, Prefectures (Japan's version of states), and even restaurants & shops I would visit once I get there. I fear that when I do visit, I may never want to leave Japan. I do know that my friends and family would be supportive of me though, so that's a bonus. Lastly is my love of video games. Yeah I know that's typical of a 30-something male in the US. For me though, it's more of the social aspect too. I have been playing world of warcraft since a year after it's 2004 release. That may seem funny and lame, but I have also made friends on that game that I have been in touch with for almost 13 years, and still talk to on Facebook and discord today. Hell, my 2 best friends in the world and I have some of the best memories playing Battlefield 3 together online at 3 or 4 in the morning. I also love collecting retro games, and even being a huge sonic the hedgehog fan since I was a kid. My Collection of Sonic games grows even to this day. Bigger than that though, is my love of the music from these games. Try listening to the soundtrack to "Chrono Cross". Some of the most beautiful work ever! That being said, I hope this information may be helpful in understanding me a bit more. Thanks for reading all of this, and take care!

  • ""A Great Love is alot like a good memory. When it's there, and you know it's there, but it's Just outta your reach, it can be all you think about. You can focus on it, and try to force it, but the more you do, the more you seem to push it away. But if your patient, and you hold still, maybe.. just maybe... it'll come to you. I just need to make sure that i'm somwhere i can be found." ~Leonard Church"
