The Director and Chief Instructor for the Hypnotist Training Center, Nathan O'Hara was first trained in hypnosis by Dr. Gyda Hallum in 1976-77 as part of his Master's degree program at the University of Houston. More recently he trained with Lawrence Miller of the Hypnosis Center of Southern California and with Dr. Richard Harte of Harte Associates. He is certified as a Hypnotherapist and Hypnotist Instructor by the National Guild of Hypnotists . Nathan has held the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Education from the University of California at Santa Barbara since 1985. During his doctoral program Nathan trained extensively in the Gestalt Therapy model with Dr. George Isaac Brown and Dr. Stuart Shapiro. Dr. O’Hara’s other relevant experience includes: - Health Educator for Planned Parenthood of Santa Barbara County (1980-1989); - HIV Specialist with the Snohomish Health District in Everett Washington (1989-1990); - Mental Health Program Coordinator with the Santa Barbara School Districts (1990-1992); - Family Violence Prevention Program Administrator with the Santa Barbara County Public Health Department (1992-2001); - President and CEO of GrantWinners Development Services (2001-2004), - CEO of Living Earth Enterprises (2004 to present); and - Director and Chief Instructor of the Alive Institute of Therapeutic Massage in Port Hueneme, California (2006 to present).
