About
Every day there's something old to feel sorry about-What I should have done and didn't,
or what I did, and kept on doing.
I want to believe everyone's forgotten by now..."Enough is enough," my father used to say...-L. Raab, 'Regret'.
Born in Missouri, grew up in the Coast Range of Oregon in a grocery store owned by the family for generations. This was followed by the unfortunate Salem period. Studied at Lewis & Clark College as well as Germany, wandering through many European countries in the interim. Have been settled in Portland since 1992. You all know the rest.

- ""What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done; there is nothing new under the sun. Even if there is anything of which one might say, 'See, this it is new,' it has already existed in ages that have gone before us. There is no memory of those in the past; of those in the future there will be no memory among those who will come afterwards." Ecclesiastes 1:9, ca. 3rd Cent. BCE
"Uncertainty is uncomfortable. But certainty is absurd."

Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the Soul
And sings the Tune without the Words
And never stops at all--
And sweetest in the gale is heard
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm--
I've heard it in the chillest land
And on the strangest sea--
Yet never--in extremity--
It asked a crumb--of me--(E. Dickinson)

"For I am under the same accusation as my Saviour.
For they said: He is besides himself.
For the officers of the peace are at variance with me,
And the watchman smites me with his staff."
