About

Lifetime spent farming. Strived for perfection always. Achieved it never, always room to improve. Used to be encouraged by looking forward to next year. Then western sugar happened. It was hard to watch 30 years of work being sold away in two hours. You think you have the bases covered, then life hits you. I convinced myself you only lose that which can’t be bought. Life is precious. Fleeting and irreplaceable. So I turned 50 in a railyard switching cars as a student conductor. Who knew right? Farmer for life? Only on weekends and days off now. Remember the fleeting part.
