I was brought up learning to farm using traditional techniques which include acequia irrigation. As a 6th generation farmer in Pecos, 12th generation Nuevo Mexicano, my main goals are to promote sustainable lifestyles and to protect the acequias of Nuevo Mexico by enhancing the economic viability of our acequias through organic agriculture, education and activism.
