About

Foremost I am a father to four wonderful children, husband to a beautiful, all to often "head shaking" bride. Secondly I am a meager artist of meager means. My work is founded in a simple belief "If I wouldn't proudly display it, then it doesn't belong in your home." Artistically: I would have to describe myself as "Self Taught." I do however have to give credit to a few folks for allowing me to blossom along the way. Firstly my mother from whom I inherited my talent for drawing, painting and seeing the world just a bit different from "average", beginning at the age of five or so. Secondly, my high school art instructors both of whom allowed me the freedom to step outside the curriculum as to not hold me "within the box" ... thank you Mrs. Carol Fahey (art) and Mr. Conrad Calimpong (ceramics) both true artists in their own right. Finally my son C. W. Baker for stoking the smoldering coals of Darkside Creations thus igniting a renewed passion for the works you see today. Though long dormant, that passion is now burning white hot, driven, unwavering and steadfast. Much love and humble thanks to you the oldest of my most "precious gifts." For you as my customers: My goals, nay, my commitment to you is simple. Though my passion drives me, and I gain inspiration literally from most anything around me, you alone are the glue that will hold this together. I will always treat you with the same compassion and honesty I give to anyone I meet. I am here to build, hopefully, long lasting relationships. I will never mislead you, I will answer any question you may have (be prepared for honesty), never shall I "mask" anything from you, no hidden fees, no BS sales or price increases to cover them, never and I do mean NEVER provide you a product that I would not have for my own. Honestly sometimes it feels like shipping out a kid.
