Grew up in Western, KY (South Hopkins, 1979). Moved to Lex. in 1980 to attend UK. Intended on returning home, but no opportunities following college. Nearly 32 years later, still in Lex. area. Principal & Co-founder of CDP Engineers, Inc. est. 1989. Grew up in rural western Kentucky and didn't have indoor plumbing until I was 13. Never considered myself poor, however. Was a good student and played high school basketball and baseball for South Hopkins High. Received an academic scholarship to attend the University of Kentucky. Graduated from UK in 1984. Stayed in Lexington because there were no jobs back in western Kentucky. Became a Professional Engineer in 1989 and started my own company in September of that same year with a partner from Barbourville, Kentucky, David Carter. Our company name, CDP Engineers, Inc. Twenty-four years later with a lot of hard work, blood, sweat, tears and prayers, we have approximately 30 employees between our two companies, CDP and MapSync. We started MapSync in 1994. Our main office for each company is in Lexington and we have branch offices in Louisville, and Knoxville, Tennessee. I am very proud to say I have two great sons Noah and Jonah. That's my life in 30 seconds!
