Sheena Metal is an entertainment icon who has anchored numerous radio shows for over 15 years in Los Angeles. Her current top-rated talk show, “The Sheena Metal Experience” airs daily on the City Of Angels’ hottest new station, LA Talk Radio; where Sheena has interviewed: movie stars, TV icons, Broadway legends, studio heads, writers, doctors, chefs, shark experts and ghost hunters…just to name a few. In addition, Metal hosts two other weekly shows for the successful radio staion: “Music Highway,” an internationally syndicated music/talk hybrid heard five years running on over 2,400 affiliates to nearly 130 million listeners worldwide and 2010’s, “Haunted Playground”, a paranormal cornucopia of ghosts, monsters, aliens and other things that go bump in the night. She first grabbed the attention of Los Angeles radio fanatics spending six years on the then “Howard Stern” station KLSX (97.1 the FM Talk Station) where she helmed five successful shows (“The Sheena Show”, “Late Night Booty Call”, “Sheena and The Princess”, “The Nastyman Show “, “Sheena and Sam”). Her untouchable wit, unforgettable voice and unflinching fan base have proven Sheena to be an undeniable radio presence, the subject of a comprehensive feature in the Los Angeles Times Sunday Calendar, as well as in: LA Weekly, The Daily News, Music Connection and dozens of other periodicals. In addition, Metal was interviewed and quoted in Michael C. Keith’s “Sounds in the Dark”, currently in publication with a forward by radio monarch, Larry King. Known for her biting sense of humor, Metal has appeared as a comedic commentator on “National Inquirer TV,” was the annual host of the All Access Music Awards, and has headlined two long-running stand-up comedy nights at The Laugh Factory in Hollywood (“Sheena Metal’s Midnight Madness” and “Inside the Girl’s Locker Room”); the latter of which was an all-girl “laugh in” praised by the LA Times. Not one to turn down any audience who loves to laugh, Sheena found another comedy niche, in the summer of 2008, when she became the humorous emcee for a host of Gay Pride Festivals across the United States including: the slick San Diego, and the mountainous Montana. Sheena Metal has also been seen on the big screen, acting in the sexy Roger Corman-produced comedy “Treasure Hunt” and the indie drama “Changing Spots.” Last fall, she released her first film, “Montgomery House: The Perfect Haunting,” a paranormal documentary set in Washington state, which she produced and appeared as an expert witness. But the theatre will always be her first love and in 2006, Sheena returned to the stage, alongside Ally Sheedy (“The Breakfast Club”) and Kathryn Erbe (“Law & Order: Criminal Intent”) in New York City for a celebrity charity run of “The Vagina Monologues,” then reprising her role in Los Angeles, alongside Jennifer Beals (“Flashdance”) and Rachel Shelley (“The L Word”). In 2010, Metal will produce and direct a production of the Broadway hit, starring many of the female guests who’ve visited her “Sheena Metal Experience” radio show throughout the year. In addition, Sheena Metal owns Music Highway Entertainment, which specializes in development, production and promotion for: television, radio, music and film. She has penned and produced both the LA cable comedy hit “Sheena Metal’s Freakin’ Rock Review” (in which she also starred), as well as the outlandish television Soap Opera “WeHo Stories.” In 2008, Sheena was named President of the L.A. based production company, Sea Hag Entertainment and is currently creating both a paranormal documentary and a comedy mockumentary. Still, the music industry remains a major part of Metal’s life. As one of L.A.’s most popular live music promoters, Sheena runs Music Highway Productions which produces more than a dozen concerts a month in Southern California, booking artists into venues such as such as: The Viper Room, The Troubadour, and Slim Jim Phantom’s (“The Stray Cats”) Cat Club (where she once hosted a night for George Clooney’s HBO series “Unscripted”). In 2008, Sheena was asked by V-Day, the charity organization that sanctions thousands of productions of “The Vagina Monologues” worldwide each year, to produce the live music event as part of their two-week UTVSLA (“Until the Violence Stops: Los Angeles”) festival. Sheena Metal has always had a reputation for giving back to the community. In 2003, she founded the independent non-profit music organization, Music Highway. Boasting over 15,000 members worldwide, Music Highway is one of the biggest and most artist-friendly independent music resources on the web, and its success has led to a number of speaking engagements for Sheena at conferences and conventions throughout Southern California and beyond for such organizations as: Independent Music Conference, L.A. Music Productions, Songsalive, Music Talks, Songnet, Indie Music Seminars, and the Los Angeles Women’s Music Festival. By 2008, Metal had added two highly coveted positions to her vast musical resume. First off, she was named Director of A&R for Maurice the Fish Records; where she is not only in charge of bringing the label new talent, but also runs their Los Angeles office. That Spring, she became the Music Supervisor for Ave Vox Entertainment; placing music for both television and films. By 2012, Sheena plans to take her musical expertise beyond assistance and create her own artist-based charity that will provide financial assistance to entertainers who’ve either been badly injured in accidents or who’ve fallen victim to illness. Not one to linger too long behind-the-scenes, Metal regularly struts her stuff as the front person for the irreverent, theatrical, LA favorite, Sheena Metal’s Beer Bong. This sexy, funny, edgy rock explosion is endorsed by: Minarik Guitars, Daisy Rock Guitars, Stash Picks, Coffin Cases, Peaceland Guitar Rings, Studio Devil and the adult toy line, Grrl Toyz. Recently, the band won the coveted All Access Magazine People’s Choice Award, was voted one of Music Connection’s Hot 100 Unsigned, and was asked to play at a private party for the prestigious NAMM (National Association of Music Makers) Convention, while they work on the release of their first full-length album, “The Funnel Of Love.” Lastly, Sheena’s vast experience in many aspects of entertainment has made her a sought-after featured writer for hundreds of magazines including: the Los Angeles Times, Music Connection, LA Weekly, Curve, Planet Out, Frontiers, New Music Weekly, Unsigned and All Access. In 2006, she began to pen a syndicated music column, “Music Highway”, as a companion to her weekly radio show of the same name. The column can now be seen in over 100 literary affiliates, including the renowned Indie Bible and in January 2008, one such publication, NoHo Arts District Magazine, made Metal their Music Editor, where she overseas the musical comings and goings for one of Southern California’s most rapidly growing artistic communities. From her eccentric beginnings as a cable access TV cult figure, to LA music industry icon, mainstream talk radio host, indie film actor, headlining stand-up comic, New York/Los Angeles stage performer, writer/director/producer, and in-demand journalist, Sheena Metal has truly earned the title Queen of the Nighttime World.
