About

I am an attorney with the Central American Refugee Center (CARECEN). I teach immigration law at Hofstra Law School and I have an immigration blog at longislandwins.com and a blog on the politics of immigration at nysiaf.org. I am a policy analyst at New York State Immigrant Action. In 2011 I began writing a series called The Immigrants' Civil War about the lives of immigrants in America's bloodiest conflict. Most recently, I have co-founded the Immigration Law Clinic at Hofstra Law School. The central fact of my life is that I loved Cecilia Falls for 30 years. Every day, I whisper "I love you Cecilia" when the wind blows.
