About

I'm going to heaven someday, so I'm not afraid of death. I've been married to Dawn since Dec. 31, 1971. My name has changed a few times the last 57 years. I started out Terry, was Evans for six years in the Navy, had two kids and became Dad, and they grew up and gave me some grandkids, so now I'm Paw Paw. Friends call me Brother T. I'm a photojournalist/managing editor for a weekly broadsheet in Weatherford, to which I commute from my home in Fort Worth. I have three dogs and about 50 fish and other aquatic lifeforms in four aquariums that include freshwater, saltwater and brackish.

Favorite saying

  • "You are not what you think you are; but what you think, you are. (wish I knew who said that) Love is like a cigar; if it goes out, you can relight it, but it's never the same. (Winston Churchill) Life is like a roll of toilet paper; the closer to the end you get, the faster it goes. (wish I knew who said that, too) The first rule of holes is, when you find yourself in one, stop digging. (Molly Ivins wrote this several times, but I can't remember who she said came up with it) "
