The picture, believe it or not, is really my dog, but we are often mistaken for one another. (If you are unsure, he is the more intelligent looking one.) I rescued him 9 years ago and to this day I can't imagine why. He looked so innocent at the Humane Society--reserved, calm, obedient. That all changed as we walked out the door. In the ensuing years he has eaten 15 metric tons of dog food, one chair, part of a couch, one watercolor by a noted California artist, hundreds of tennis balls--he insists on skinning them first and discarding the fuzzy stuff-- one tube of zinc oxide ( hospital bill close to $1,000), and ALL of my patience. But at least he keeps me around for laughs. I guess it could be worse.
