About

Check out my website at www.ryanperry.com Ryan Perry, 33, has been creating wildlife art for over a decade. While being raised in the Pacific Northwest, Ryan developed an early interest in art as well as a love and respect for animals in their natural habitat. He has been able to parlay his passion and artistic talent into a successful career as a wildlife painter. Since his first exhibition, he has continued to travel the world to expand his knowledge of the natural world and improve the realism in his paintings. Ryan's art has won numerous awards and has been featured in such magazines as US Art, Art Forum, and Art Trends. US Art named Ryan as one of the new generation of up and coming wild life artists. The painting "Big Tusker" appeared on the November/December 2006 cover of Safari Magazine. "Big Tusker" depicts an aged, embattled bull elephant warrior Ryan spotted while on photo safari in the Masai Mara of East Africa. The realism in Ryan's art is motivated by his adventurous trips around the world. He has traveled to Kenya twice. South Africa, Costa Rica, Spain, Canada, Mexico ; as well as Washington State, Oregon , Montana, Alaska , and Florida. One trip to the jungles of Costa Rica afforded Ryan the rare gift of viewing the extremely elusive Jaguar. Other favorite encounters include viewing a cheetah on patrol ,a leopard lounging in a tree, a large pride of lions lazing in the afternoon heat, and an impressive herd of elephants being led by an enormous bull. These experiences and the interaction are what bring each canvas to life with illuminating light and emotion. These Paintings truly inspire and captivate the imagination.
