About

Married 46+years, 3 children all grown. Oldest grandson started U of Iowa this fall into M.E. his sister got many awards this year like All conference, an outstanding H.S.softball pitcher. We have bird-feeders everywhere. Bluejays, cardinals, wild canaries, hummingbirds, etc. visit daily. What a feast of color and sound! Fall is deer-hunting on our farm. Sons love it too. We sometimes catch and release bass in our pond. Enjoy get-togethers that involve gospel sings. Also enjoy and participate in Praise Band on Sunday mornings. We enjoy cruising on our hilly farm on the Ranger, or the Quad-runner, or the big John Deere tractor.(Granddaughter calls these "papa's toys"). Marilyn and I retired. She from J-Tec and me from R.C. Sometimes miss friends at R.C. We have made a lot of new friends since retirement. So many countryfolk out here hold down a full-time job and do some farming. Small time farmers just can't raise a family from the farm by itself. My mom and dad, Lester and Evelyn Lough, farmed N.E. of Bloomfield all their life. Marilyn's mom and dad, Sam and Thelma Closser, farmed near lake Wapello, lived in Floris, then adjacent to my folks farm N.E. of Bloomfield.
