Bad decisions make good stories. I could never really talk too much about myself; talking about oneself with the intention of your self-profile being visible to others tends to lead to an over-representation of oneself. Everyone wants everyone else to like them, so it's very easy to exaggerate the qualities that one likes about themselves, while failing to mention one's negative qualities. However, our capacity to care about what our fellow man thinks of us is part of what connects us to each other as a species; the common term for those who have no concern for anyone's opinion of them are commonly referred to as "sociopaths", and are look down upon in society.
