Favorite saying

  • "From Me to Magni Thorsson in an email dated 17 Aug 2009 "I treat all my friends that prove themselves as friends like family, Marines and Blood. I would sacrifice everything I have for a friend that would do the same for me (and trust me, many say they would, but when push comes to shove, most WONT). I know the true feeling of promising to give my life so others may live, do you? I know the true meaning of saying "Brother - DONT WORRY - I have your back!", do you? When I say I would do anything for a friend, I would, would you? Are you really willing to sacrifice ALL for someone? I am and I proved that for 7 years until I could no longer function as an asset to my Marines, my Unit or my Corps. You have no fucken right to question my loyalty, honor or word when I have never broken any of that to you or the kindred." -- Michael Lawson "Some people live an entire lifetime and wonder if they have ever made a difference to the world. But the Marines don't have that problem"...Ronald Reagan “The Marines I have seen around the world have the cleanest bodies, the filthiest minds, the highest morale, and the lowest morals of any group of animals I have ever seen. Thank God for the United States Marine Corps!” Eleanor Roosevelt "They told (us) to open up the Embassy, or "we'll blow you away." And then they looked up and saw the Marines on the roof with these really big guns, and they said in Somali, "Igaralli ahow," which means "Excuse me - I didn't mean it - my mistake". " Karen Aquilar, in the U.S. Embassy; Mogadishu, Somalia, 1991 "Come on, you sons of bitches! Do you want to live forever?" GySgt. Daniel J. "Dan" Daly, USMC near Lucy-`le-Bocage as he led the 5th Marines' attack into Belleau Wood, 6 June 1918 - where they earned the nickname - DEVIL DOG! "There are only two kinds of people that understand Marines: Marines and the enemy. Everyone else has a second-hand opinion." Gen. William Thornson, U.S. Army "Marines I see as two breeds, Rottweilers or Dobermans, because Marines come in two varieties, big and mean, or skinny and mean. They're aggressive on the attack and tenacious on defense. They've got really short hair and they always go for the throat." RAdm. "Jay" R. Stark, USN; 10 November 1995"
