I began playing the Los Angeles/Bay area club circuit in the early 80's when I recorded the critically acclaimed cult classic thrash crossover album Recognize No Authority released on Roadrunner Records released in 1986. This album also featured Ross Robinson (Producer of Korn, Slipnot, and The Cure) on guitar and the first female front person in extreme metal, Dawn Crosby. With the relentless rhythm section of Steve Hochheiser and Dennis Butler on bass and drums. I played lead guitar on the songs, "It's Your Fate" and "Blood I Bleed”. After Detente disbanded I recorded with the band Catalepsy, featuring Ross Robinson and Steve Hochheiser of Détente. The album would later be released on Roadrunner Records. After relocating to San Francisco I formed a metal band called Bang and played the Bay Area circuit for nearly five years. We supported National acts such as Y&T, Badlands, Racer X, Steve Stevens (of Billy Idol), Vicious Rumors, Bitch , The Dwarves and Precious Metal to name a few from that era. I also produced several SF bands in the early 90's including Blackwash, a side project of Atlantic Recording artist Manny Martinez (Psychefunkapus). I produced and played Guitar on an independant album for singer/songwriter Matt Willis called Chikenmonque. Willis went on to ink a publishing deal with Warner/Chappel. In '95 I returned to L.A. and started gigging around town with a band called Celtic Shoes until eventually hooking up with members of Fishbone to play The Universal Amphitheater and the Roxbury with Trulio Disgracious (a 30 member Funk Improv association) sharing guitar duties with Arik Marshall of Red Hot Chili Peppers. I wrote and recorded an original song with Lenny LeeGoldsmith of Tower of Power. In the late 90's I played the L.A. cuiruit with a band called Slim Freaky performing frequentlly around town (Whiskey, Roxy, Gaslamp and more). We recorded demos and a self produced album. Since 2004 I've been in a band called Pusher playing at all the local hot spots (Knitting Factory,Club Lingerie,The Joynt,14 Below, etc). We have a self produced album called Founding Fathers and are currently mixing our new full length album. Listen for new cuts on myspace.com/pusherrocks In 2007 Detente reunited with Ann Boleyn to play some festivals including the 2008 Headbangers Open Air in Germany. Since then we have recorded and released a new Detente album with vocalist extraordinaire Tiina Teal entitled "Decline" available on Cognitive Records worldwide in 2010. We toured Europe in the Spring to support this current release playing in Holland, Belgium, Switzerland and Germany.
