About

I watched “Diary Of A Wimpy Kid” and I was reminded that, to this day, I am still dogged by many of the same old hang-ups I acquired in early adolescence, and in a big way. Born: 1965AUG14 As the years pass, time accelerates, and earlier memories seem more and more like something dreamt; even some of the worst episodes in our lives begin to take on a sentimental value: We were younger; time seemed unlimited; the future looked brighter; we were surrounded by friends and loved ones; we were still intrigued by new things; and after all, we did survive the whole ordeal intact – pretty much. Events that directly affect us take on a cosmic significance, while the plight of others is a source of annoyance – until it finally becomes clear that nobody cares about “us” either; and comments like “I wish I knew ‘then’ what I know ‘now’” is a common sentiment among many people. It seems like there should be some way to get a whole new chance to live our lives all over again, because we were “deprived of true happiness” or we were totally “cheated out of success”, etc.,because life is so unfair. This is true if nothing changes. It is because of these realities, that our dreams can take on a whole new significance.
